We have had a good first two days back after the Spring Break.
In LA this week we have been working on editing our writing, and Grade 4s have been introduced to using commas in their writing. Did you know that you can use a comma in many ways? Ways we are practicing this week are:
- separating items in a list (markers, crayons, paint, pastels, chalk, pencils, and paper)
- in a date (April 7, 2021)
- separating the when from the what at the beginning of a sentence (Yesterday, I went to the store.)
In Math, we have been working on rounding to the nearest ten or hundred. Some of the students have even started rounding to the nearest thousand or rounding decimals. In Science, we are learning about the science behind bikes. Bicycles require a strong structure, specific materials, and use a variety of systems to help them move. In Social Studies, we have been learning about indigenous perspectives on the land, trade, beliefs, and way of life in Alberta's past.
