In Science we are continuing to learn about simple machines

This week we have been working on adding detail to our writing through the inclusion of adjectives, adverbs, and prepositions.

We have been graphing the stats from the Flames vs. Oilers hockey games in math.  We have also been finding the value of a symbol taking the place of a number in a number sentence (ex. 15 + ^ = 22, so ^=7)

In Science we did an experiment to make our own lifting device, then learned about pulleys and how they work.

In Social Studies we are learning about the Metis people of Alberta.  Today we learned about 4 different cultural symbols of the Metis - the Red River Cart, the Red River Jig, the Metis sash, and the Metis flag.

Our concert is tonight!  We had a busy day practicing today.

*** Reminder*** Students are required to have both indoor and outdoor shoes

We did an experiment with rollers today.  We learned that they do make it easier to move a heavy load, but you need a lot of rollers, or have to keep moving them to the front and it takes a long time.

In LA we worked on reading comprehension this week at school.

We made a graph about the stats from Game 1 of the Oilers/Flames playoff series in math today.

 Today Mrs. P was back!!!

In math, we learned how to create our own math operations pixel picture puzzle.  We will be working on this for the rest of the week, and exchanging them with another student to solve.

In Social Studies, we used our text books today.  We had to use the text features to find answers to specific questions about the fur trade in Alberta.

We started working on our dance residency with Sound Kreations this week.  We have two more sessions with the instructor tomorrow and Friday.
