This week we have been busy writers. We examined what makes a good middle of a story, including having multiple events to try and solve a problem, and adding details to each event, rather than saying "I tried to climb up a tree but it didn't work."
In math, we have been working on multiplication arrays. We have been making our haunted houses, and also did some work on word problems in which an array would be a useful strategy to solve them.
In science, we completed a "show what you know" activity about shadows and sources of light before moving on to the concepts of reflection and refraction of light.
In social studies, we looked at more detail of the regions of Alberta, and tried to match a region to a picture and description.
In Phys. Ed. tomorrow we will be doing our Walk for Wenjack. Please make sure your child has appropriate outdoor footwear and a jacket to wear while walking for 30 min. We will be measuring how far we walk.
Upcoming Dates:
Friday, October 29 - Children can wear their Halloween costume if they wish. Please remember that regular masks (that cover the mouth and nose) are still required. No violent costumes please and leave accessories that are weapons - e.g. gun, swords, etc should be left at home. We will still be participating in gym so please make sure your child can move freely in their costume.
